Epithalon Mechanism of Action in Research Models

Cells show delayed replicative senescence and extended lifespan in culture. Epithalon also reduces intracellular reactive oxygen species. It protects mitochondrial function under oxidative stress. Epithalon Research Overview

Preclinical research aims mainly on cellular aging and telomerase regulation. In human fetal fibroblasts, Epithalon reactivates telomerase activity, lengthens telomeres, and population doubling increases before senescence. In animal studies, lifespan extension is observed in mice and fruit flies. Long-term use reduces spontaneous tumor development in some models. In aged rhesus monkeys, Epithalon brings back the circadian rhythms of melatonin and cortisol thus improving neuroendocrine balance. In Campbell rats with hereditary retinitis pigmentosa, retinal function lasts longer. Visual pathway degeneration slows over time. Mouse oocyte aging studies show strong protection at 0.1 mM. After 24 hours of postovulatory aging:

Intracellular ROS levels decrease.
Mitochondrial membrane potential remains stable.
mtDNA copy number stays consistent.
Cortical granule abnormalities,and spindle defects are reduced.
DNA damage (yH2AX) , and early apoptosis markers decline.
Early apoptosis decreases.
Fragmentation rates fall during parthenogenetic activation.

These results show the role of epithalon in fighting oxidative stress and the decrease of mitochondria in reproductive cells. Geroprotective potential has been observed in small scale early human observation , but large controlled trials do not exist.

Store unopened vials at 2–8°C, and keep away from light and moisture. Do not freeze. Reconstitute with sterile diluent under aseptic conditions,and store reconstituted solutions refrigerated.
